  • How does GoLab's mobile lab work?
GoLab is the first state-certified mobile laboratory to bring FDA-EUA authorized same-day COVID-19 (plus Flu & RSV) testing directly to you, when and where you need it. Here's how we do it: 1. Plan. Submit our booking form with your testing needs (when do you need testing, how many people need to be tested, what is your desired testing location, etc.) and we will respond to you ASAP to confirm your appointment time and rates. Our mobile lab currently serves groups of 10 or more people (minimum charge of 10-tests). 2. We Come To You. Our mobile lab and GoLab nurse will come to your workplace, home, school, or event to set up safe testing stations and perform efficient COVID-19 testing for your group. Patient intake is 100% touchless and completed online before testing. 3. Test. Our experienced registered nurses will collect gentle lower nasal swabs from your group. 4. PCR Results Same-Day. Rapid Antigen Results in 15 minutes. We will deliver test results directly to each person in your group as soon as their tests have been analyzed. They will receive an email notification with a link to our secure portal, where they can view and download their lab report using their phone or computer.
  • How do I book GoLab testing for my group?
Fill out our booking request form here, and we will respond to you as soon as possible to confirm your appointment time and testing rates for your group. For our mobile labs to come to your location, we require a minimum of 10 tests to be booked by your group per mobile lab appointment. We do not offer testing appointments for individual patients.
  • I have confirmed exposure to COVID-19. When should I get tested?
We recommend following the CDC's guidelines for isolation/symptom-monitoring, quarantine, and testing after exposure to COVID-19. With all COVID-19 testing, it can take several days (usually about 3-5) before viral loads are detectable in your body after you are infected by SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19 virus). PCR testing is the most sensitive test type for detecting trace amounts of viral RNA early in an infection cycle (starting around 2-3 days after exposure). Rapid antigen testing identifies viral proteins from your nasal swab sample, and requires higher viral loads to detect positive infections. This means that a rapid antigen test can potentially miss detecting positive infections early or late in a patient infection cycle, when viral loads may be low. This is especially common with asymptomatic infections in vaccinated people. Performing serial testing with rapid antigen tests (testing every day or every other day) is highly recommended in order to detect a positive infection that may have been missed on the previous day of testing.
  • Can I get tested for COVID-19, Flu A+B, and RSV at the same time?
Yes, GoLab now provides Same-Day 3-in-1 COVID-19- Influenza A+B- and RSV PCR testing for groups. With one gentle, lower nasal swab, you can now identify and stop outbreaks of these three viruses at work, care facilities, and before events, as quickly and conveniently as possible. Click here to book your mobile tri-plex viral test today.
  • I need a COVID-19 test for travel. Are GoLab's tests accepted?
Yes. We offer Same-Day PCR testing- the gold standard for molecular/NAAT testing, which is accepted for travel around the world. We also offer 15-minute Rapid Antigen testing, which is less sensitive than PCR testing but is accepted by many countries around the world for travel purposes. We always recommend you check the latest travel requirements directly on the government travel website of the country you are planning to visit, as entry rules are changing constantly.
  • I have less than 10 people in my group. Where should I get tested?
GoLab requires a minimum of 10 tests per mobile lab booking. We test private and workplace groups. Some of our clients prefer to pay the 10-test minimum for the convenience of mobile testing with guaranteed result turnaround times, even if they need less than 10 people to be tested. That may not be your most cost-effective option, depending on how many people in your group need testing. (See GoLab's rates here.) We recommend the following resources and clinics for individual COVID-19 testing in greater Seattle: WA Department of Health Testing Locations across Washington State King County COVID-19 Testing Locations
  • What's the difference between PCR and rapid antigen COVID-19 testing?
PCR testing is the gold standard for COVID-19 testing with 99.99% accuracy. It is accepted for travel entry by most destinations around the world. GoLab collects gentle lower nasal swabs from your group and we process your PCR tests at our Seattle-based lab. We guarantee the fastest turnaround times of any mobile lab in the region, with results emailed to you before 11pm as long as we test your group before 12pm that morning. Rapid antigen testing is less sensitive than PCR (about 84% sensitivity to detect positive COVID-19 infections), but delivers real-time, reliable results in just 15 minutes after testing. It is also a lower cost per test than PCR testing. All the tests GoLab uses are FDA-EUA authorized and sensitive to detect known COVID-19 mutation variants. Click here to see our mobile testing pricing and learn more about which test type is right for your group or event.
  • How much does testing cost?
Click here to view our mobile test pricing for PCR and Antigen COVID-19 test types. Test rates are per person, and depend on the total number of people being tested in your group and your preferred result turnaround times. Please note that a 10-test minimum charge applies for all mobile testing. We do not offer testing appointments for individuals. Contact us with details about your testing needs and we will send you rates for your group. We are committed to offering the safest, competitively-priced rapid testing services for your group.
  • Do you accept insurance?
We do not bill insurance directly for testing at this time. Nearly all insurance plans cover individual testing and treatment for medically-necessary services related to COVID-19 (as well as Flu & RSV), and GoLab uses FDA-authorized tests and is a state-licensed testing facility. Many of our patients submit their lab reports and payment receipts to their insurance providers for reimbursement. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider to confirm their process for reimbursement for your GoLab testing.
  • How long does it take to get results back from my GoLab COVID-19 (or tri-plex COVID/Flu/RSV) test? Will I receive my results the same day?
Same-Day PCR Tests You will receive your PCR test results before midnight on the same day that we perform your test. Testing must be completed before 12pm. For afternoon or evening testing appointments, we guaranteed Next-Day test results by 11pm the next day. For testing performed on a Sunday, results will be sent to you by end of day Monday. Rapid Molecular NAAT Tests Our FDA-EUA authorized rapid molecular nucleic acid amplification (NAAT) tests are able to detect SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) in 30 minutes. Rapid Antigen Tests Our FDA-EUA authorized rapid antigen tests are able to detect SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) in 15 minutes. GoLab will send you an email notification as soon as your test results are ready. Click on the message link to view your easy-to-read lab report in our secure patient portal. You can view your test results from your phone or computer and also download your test results as a PDF file.

GoLab brings its mobile laboratories and registered nurse teams directly to your workplace, home, or event. We do not have physical clinic locations or accept walk-in appointments. Our GoLab registered nurses set up safe testing stations at your location, and deliver same-day PCR test results or rapid test results in as fast as 15 minutes. Please note that a 10-test minimum charge applies for all mobile testing. We do not offer testing appointments for individuals.
  • Are GoLab's tests authorized by the FDA?
Yes. GoLab only uses COVID-19 tests that are FDA-EUA authorized and responsibly sourced.
  • What kind of PCR tests does GoLab use?
We use FDA-EUA authorized SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR tests by Thermo Fisher Scientific. PCR tests are highly accurate (99.99% sensitive and 100% specific) and considered the gold standard for detecting an active COVID-19 infection. Our test also requires a gentle, lower nasal swab sample instead of a nasopharyngeal swab. We deliver your choice of same-day or next-day PCR test results. Click here to view the FDA fact sheet for more information about this test.
  • What kind of rapid antigen tests does GoLab use?
We use BD Veritor™ rapid antigen tests to detect SARS-CoV-2. These tests look for pieces of surface viral proteins in your nasal swab sample to determine if you have an active infection. It requires a gentle, lower nasal swab sample instead of a nasopharyngeal swab. This test is FDA-EUA authorized and used throughout the United States and Europe. Click here to view the FDA fact sheet for more information about this test.
  • Can you test guests at my wedding or private event?
Yes. We help Seattle's leading companies and event planners host safer events. GoLab's mobile laboratory and nurses set up safe testing stations to screen guests and/or venue staff directly at your event- with rapid antigen test results in just 15 minutes. In addition to wearing masks and practicing social distancing when possible, providing point-of-care testing for your guests is a powerful way to minimize the risk of accidental viral transmission at your event. Please refer to state and county guidelines around COVID-19 safety and gathering size limits for group events.
  • How many people can you test? Is there a group minimum?
For our mobile labs to come to your location, we require a minimum of 10 tests to be booked for your group. For groups that need to book our mobile testing for less than 10 people, a 10-test minimum charge will apply. We can test as many as hundreds or thousands of people in your group, depending on your testing location and logistical needs. Please send us a message and we will reply with a complimentary testing plan and quote for your group. We do not offer testing appointments for individual patients.
  • Do you take walk-in appointments?
No, our mobile lab testing is by appointment only for groups with a minimum of 10 tests. We do not offer testing appointments for individual patients.
  • Do I need to have symptoms or a prescription in order to be tested?
No. We provide responsive testing for groups with confirmed COVID-19 exposure, as well as screening testing for people without symptoms and without known COVID-19 exposure.
  • Do you test children?
Yes. Parents or guardians can complete an online intake form for their child, and we ask that parents remain in the testing area while their children are tested. To help prepare children for their testing experience, we recommend talking with them in advance about why they are being tested and what to expect with testing. Explain that our staff will be wearing masks and face shields to keep people safe, and that all our nurses are friendly and kind. You can also share with children that our nurses will rub the inside of their nose with a cotton swab and that it may tickle a bit, but it won't hurt them. Please note that we are only able to test children if they are able to remain seated and still for the duration of swab collection. We want to ensure that your child is safe and comfortable.
  • Is testing painful?
No, our nasal swab sample collection does not hurt. The tests we use require anterior nasal swab samples, which means that the swab is inserted less than one inch into your nostril. This process is much more comfortable than the nasopharyngeal swab collection used in many public testing locations. Our GoLab registered nurses are highly experienced and deliver a comfortable testing experience for you from start to finish.
  • What should I do if I test positive?
If you test positive, please stay home and isolate from others except to seek medical care. We recommend that you contact your doctor and refer to the CDC's COVID-19 website for additional advice.
  • I need a COVID-19 test for travel. Are GoLab's tests accepted?
Yes. We offer Same-Day PCR testing- the gold standard for molecular/NAAT testing, which is accepted for travel around the world. We always recommend you check the latest travel requirements directly on the government travel website of the country you are planning to visit, as entry rules are changing constantly.
