FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General FAQs

Are GoLab's tests authorized by the FDA?

Yes. GoLab only uses COVID-19 tests that are FDA-EUA authorized and responsibly sourced.

How many people can you test? Is there a group minimum?

For our mobile labs to come to your location, we require a minimum of 5 people to be booked for testing in your group. We can test as many as hundreds or thousands of people in your group, depending on your testing location and logistical needs. Please send us a message and we will create a complimentary testing plan and quote for your group. We do not offer testing appointments for individual patients.

How much does testing cost?

Click here to view our COVID-19 Test Pricing for PCR and Antigen test types. Testing is priced per person, and depends on the number of people being tested in your group and your preferred result turnaround times. Contact us with details about your testing needs and we will send you rates for your group. We are committed to offering the safest, competitively-priced rapid testing services for your group.

Do you take walk-in appointments?

No, our mobile lab testing is by appointment only for groups with a minimum of 5 tests. We do not offer testing appointments for individual patients.

What should I do if I test positive?

If you test positive, please stay home and isolate from others except to seek medical care. We recommend that you contact your doctor and refer to the CDC's COVID-19 website for additional advice.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept or bill insurance for testing at this time. Most insurance plans cover individual testing and treatment for medically-necessary services related to COVID-19, and GoLab uses FDA-authorized tests and is a licensed testing facility. Many of our patients submit their lab reports and payment receipts to their insurance providers for reimbursement. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider to confirm their process for reimbursement for your GoLab testing.

Is the sample collection painful?

No, our nasal swab collection does not hurt. The tests we use require anterior nasal swab samples, which means that the swab is inserted less than one inch into your nostril. This process is much more comfortable than the nasopharyngeal swab collection used in many public testing locations. Our GoLab registered nurses are highly experienced and deliver a comfortable testing experience for you from start to finish.

Do you test children?

Yes. Parents or guardians can complete an online intake form for their child, and we ask that parents remain in the testing area while their children are tested. To help prepare children for their testing experience, we recommend talking with them in advance about why they are being tested and what to expect with testing. Explain that our staff will be wearing masks and face shields to keep people safe, and that all our nurses are friendly and kind. You can also share with children that our nurses will rub the inside of their nose with a cotton swab and that it may tickle a bit, but it won't hurt them. Please note that we are only able to test children if they are able to remain seated and still for the duration of swab collection. We want to ensure that your child is safe and comfortable.

Can't I require my employees to get tested on their own before returning to work?

Law prohibits you from requiring your employees to get tested with their own insurance for screening purposes. By organizing GoLab's on-site mobile testing for your team, you'll reduce risks of COVID-19 transmission at your work site and stay legally compliant.

Our employee(s) may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, what should we do?

GoLab's COVID-19 risk mitigation experts are available to discuss your specific COVID-19 exposure circumstances and support you with a testing plan based on the latest science and medical advice. First, determine if there was close contact between your employee and the person with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Here is the CDC's updated definition of close contact:

  • You were within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more
  • You provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19
  • You had direct physical contact with the person (hugged or kissed them)
  • You shared eating or drinking utensils
  • They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you
If close contact has occured, the CDC recommends that your employee begin a home quarantine:
  • Stay home and monitor your health
  • Stay home for 14 days after your last contact with a person who has COVID-19
  • Watch for fever (100.4*F), cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19
  • If possible, stay away from others, especially people who are at higher risk for getting very sick from COVID-19
If your employee does not develop any symptoms, the CDC allows for a reduced quaranting window if they test negative around Day 7 of home quarantine:
  • 10 days, without getting tested
  • 7 days, with a negative test within 48 hours of Day 7
To ensure COVID-19 transmission risks are as low as possible, we recommend that all employees wear masks, practice regular hand washing and sanitization of high-touch surfaces, and undergo COVID-19 point-of-care test screenings as needed before work.

Why should my business or group use GoLab COVID testing?

GoLab brings rapid FDA-EUA authorized COVID-19 testing directly to your business or group. We navigate the complex logistics of safe, on-site COVID-19 testing and mandatory Department of Health reporting for your group, so that you don't have to. Here are some of the reasons businesses rely on GoLab to reduce their workplace COVID-19 transmission risks:

  • Rapid Antigen or Same-Day PCR Test results- GoLab is the only mobile lab to deliver 99.99% accurate PCR test results on the same day that your group is tested. If you need results even faster, our 15-minute rapid antigen testing allows you to make safe workplace decisions only minutes after your group testing is finished. Instead of a patchwork approach of employees getting tested on their own at different locations and varying times, or trying to coordinate your own testing with mail-in kits that take days for results, GoLab provides point-of-care screening and delivers test results in real-time for your group before they enter your worksite or event.
  • Simple, straightforward per-test rates. No monthly minimums or long term contracts. We can safely test a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of thousands, and offer bulk discounts for large groups.
  • Certified, insured mobile lab and registered nurses. We bring our CLIA-certified mobile labs and experienced medical team directly to you.
  • Fastest FDA-EUA authorized COVID-19 tests on the market. We collect gentle lower nasal swabs and deliver reliable antigen test results in 15 minutes or PCR results on the same business day.
  • Highest safety compliance. Touchless, HIPAA-compliant patient intake. We follow the latest CDC, FDA, and CLIA standards for safe, on-site testing and data management of your group.
  • Committed to Community. For every test we perform for your group, we donate a portion of proceeds to regional health and youth charities.
